Once you had a path to cross a meadow. And now you want to cross a meadow again, but there were so many weeds over grown on the path that you could not see the way. Would you add something to see the way or get rid of the weeds? As you do, the path is once again clear..
Mental weeds.. negative imaginations, anxiety, fearful attitudes, anger, blaming others, etc.

Someone makes an appointment with you and then does not keep it. That is merely an event. When your expectations of others are not realized you are disappointed. Disappointment comes when your mind adds something to the event. Either they didn't want to see you, or they found something better to do, etc. See the bare fact and add nothing.

The point of your life is to really live it the way you want to, not the way someone else. wants you to. You are not your anxiety.
You are not your fear.
You are not your anger or your guilt.
You are you and begin to become aware of how to separate yourself from these words.
Once you separate yourself you can see things differently.
